Activities of R-2 Laboratory:

·    Microbiological tests of food and water;
·    Microbiological tests of animal feed;
·    Determination of microbiological purity of food production, processing and trade facilities (contact plates, swabs, liquids);
·    Qualitative determination of residues of antibiotics in food and animal feed;
·    Microbiological tests of shellfish according to Plan of Monitoring the Quality of Sea and Shellfish in areas of shellfish farming and fishing;
·    Field activities of sampling of food and contact plates and professional consulting services in the contract facilities;
·    Participation in the training of employees in veterinary services, cattle breeding, fisheries and biotechnology;
·    Professional aid related to inspection of animals and inspection of foodstuffs;
·    Other tests at clients’ requests.
R-2 Laboratory is accredited according to standard HRN EN ISO 17025, with nine methods:

1. Horizontal method for the detection of Salmonella spp HRN EN ISO 6579:2003 + corr. 2008;

2. Horizontal method for the enumeration of β-glucuronidase positive E. coli – MPN method HRS ISO/TS 16649-3:2008;

3. Horizontal method for the detection and enumeration of L. monocytogenes, Part 1 – Detection method, HRN EN ISO 11290-1:1999+A1:2008.

4. Horizontal method for the detection and enumeration of L. monocytogenes, Part 2 – Colony-count method, HRN EN ISO 11290-2:1999+A1:2008

5. Horizontal method for sampling techniques from surfaces using contact plates and swabs for detection of Salmonella spp. and Listeria monocytogenes

6. Horizontal method for the enumeration of microorganisms – Colony-count technique at 30 °C (HRN EN ISO 4833:2008)

7. Horizontal procedure for the enumeration of coagulase-positive staphylococci (Staphylococcus aureus and other) – Part 1: Technique using Baird-Parker agar medium (HRN EN ISO 6888-1:2004)

8. Method of enumeration of beta-glucuronidase positive Escherichia coli – Part 2: Colony count technique at 44 °C using 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl beta-D-glucuronide (HRN ISO 16649-2:2001)

9. Horizontal method for the detection and enumeration of Enterobacteriaceae – Part 2: Colony-count method (HRN ISO 21528-2:2008)
