A new PhD at the Croatian Veterinary Institute Print E-mail

Institute employee Vesna Jaki Tkalec, DVM, assistant (internal status: junior researcher) and Manager of the Laboratory for Food and Animal Feed Microbiology of the Veterinary Institute Križevci, a branch of the Croatian Veterinary Institute, successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled “Dokazivanje gena za virulenciju i mecA gena sojeva vrste Staphylococcus aureus izdvojenih u rutinskoj dijagnostici mastitisa krava” (Evidence of a gene for virulence and the mecA gene in strains of the species Staphylococcus aureus isolated in routine diagnosis in mastitis in cows) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb on 26 April 2013, thereby receiving the academic title of doctor of science (PhD).

Academics visits the Croatian Veterinary Institute Print E-mail

On Friday, 11 January 2013, Academic Marko Pećina, Secretary of the Medical Sciences Division of the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts, Academic Slavko Cvetnić and Academic Josip Madić paid a visit to the Croatian Veterinary Institute.
During their visit, Institute Director, Professor Dr. Željko Cvetnić held a presentation on the history of the Institute and the activities undertaken in the past six-year period, in which the Institute has taken great steps forward in all segments of its work.

Following the presentation, the academics toured the Institute laboratories where the facts presented were seen on site. At the end of the tour, the academics expressed their satisfaction with all that they had seen, from the organisation of the Institute, to the equipment in the laboratories and expertise of the Institute staff.
